About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and specialize in the treatment of trauma related disorders. I received my graduate education at Smith College School for Social Work and graduated in 2002. While attending Smith, I did my field placement experiences with the Cambridge Health Alliance in Massachusetts. After graduating I completed a fellowship program with the Victims of Violence Program. I also have experience with community mental health and crisis stabilization services. I was a staff therapist and the coordinator of the group treatment program at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) of Indiana University from 2008-2016. At CAPS I developed and ran a group treatment model based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, led relational process-oriented groups, conducted emergency evaluations, provided individual therapy and couples counseling, supervised social work trainees, and offered a variety of workshops to the campus.

In my fellowship, I received advanced training to work with adults with trauma related disorders and problems such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, dissociative disorders, problematic eating, self-injury and personality disorders. While the training was specialized for trauma survivors, the experience has shaped me into a therapist who will work well with many of the concerns that bring an individual into counseling. My therapeutic approach is integrative. I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Relational Therapy and Psychodynamic Theories. The therapeutic relationship is the ‘holding environment’ to create a sense of safety and promote healing and growth. Therapy is a collaborative process and I look forward embarking on that collaborative process with you.
